Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is definitely my favorite day of the year. There is just so much excitement and so much to look forward to. We had a great Christmas Eve and got to spend it with both sides of our family which made it really special. We even got to see Santa on Christmas Eve even though we all know how busy he is!

We started our day out with a delicious breakfast at my parents house with all of my family. Thankfully for us we had finished all of our Christmas shopping and wrapping a week before so we just enjoyed the rest of the morning. In the afternoon we had a party with the Neumann (Hunt) family. It was a lot of fun.

We played a game where you had to blow up balloons and stuff them in nylons and then put it on your head and sing "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." It was pretty funny to watch and the kids loved wearing the antlers for the rest of the night!

I have to say that my girls aren't very big fans of Santa. I was hoping that Emma would like him but as you can see from this picture - no siree!

Ady had been wanting to see Santa again ever since our Polar Express excursion, but the second he walked in the room on Christmas Eve she looked very worried. She actually sat on his lap because we told her if she didn't tell him what she wanted he might not bring it to her. By the time that we left she actually liked him a lot and kept going back over to him:) I guess that means we made some progress but it will be interesting to see how it goes next year!

After the Neumann party we headed over to my parents to finish off the night. The kids all dressed up and acted out the Nativity. It is somewhat entertaining watching 12 little kids from 1 to 10 doing the Nativity.

This is Emma trying to steal baby Jesus from his mother! She loves babies and wanted to hold it the whole night. When we would ask her what she wanted for Christmas she would just say "baby"!

Ady made a key in her pre-school class for Santa to come in just in case he couldn't make it down our chimney. She was so excited about it for weeks!

We went outside and hung it on our little Christmas tree by our front door. Ady didn't want to take any chances that Santa might not be able to get in!

The girls in their Christmas jammies putting out some rice crispy treats, cookies and milk. Santa loved the milk and cookies and ate all but a little crumb!

Ady and Emma getting ready to go to bed. Ady knew how important it was to be in bed so she was quite anxious to get there. She didn't even want to read like we usually do. I went in a couple minutes later and she was sound asleep! She was completely exhausted and so excited for the morning to come!
