On Thursday we had planned to go to my mom's cousin's house in Wales. Unfortunately they got sick and we weren't able to go so we went on a tour through the Cotswolds of England instead. The Cotswolds are an area in central England that have rolling hills. There are lots of old homes with thatched roofs and the country side is beautiful.
The first village we went to was called Burford. It is a cute little town with lots of tourist shops.
There was an old cemetary with a beautiful church. Most of the names on the headstones are not legible due to the wet weather, but you can tell that they are very old. Some of the buildings in this town dated back to the 13th century and are still in use today.
Barbara, Judy, Ady, Brooke, & EmmaI thought this little bike was so cute and picturesque. We had fun walking up and down the streets in this beautiful village.

After freezing for a while in the cold we decided to stop for a cup of tea (of a cup of hot chocolate in our case). We had a nice piece of Lardy cake with our hot chocolate. It was like a cinnamon roll (I prefer the name cinnamon roll - lardy cake makes me realize that I am eating something that is not good for me)!
Emma was so good. She just went along with us everywhere and hardly ever cried. She was so sweet and peaceful!
Our next stop was a little village called Bourton-on-the-water. They call it the Venice of England because of the river that runs through the village.
Ady was arrested and had to hang out in the stocks for a little while!
There was a cute display of miniature houses. Somebody had recreated the whole village and laid it out accurately. It was fun to walk around the small village. The houses were done beautifully and even had small miniature trees and vines on the homes.
Ady really liked it because it was closer to her size.

Ady putting make-up on grandpa.My dad was a good sport and would sit in the back seat with Ady. She had her pretend make-up and he let her fix him up. She had fun with her grandpa in the back seat. She even painted his fingernails!
After our long day of sightseeing we went to my cousin Adam's house to have dinner. This is a picture of his little girls Faye, Lola, & Philippa with Emma. They were excited to have here there and wanted to help me feed her a bottle.
The little girls all got to sit at their own table for dinner. They had so much fun playing together. At first Ady was shy but it didn't take long for her to warm up her cousins. These girls are Ady & Emma's 3rd cousins.
Even though we didn't celebrate Thanksgiving on the right day I still gave Emma & Ady their Christmas jammies on Thanksgiving night.
Ady and Judy reading stories before bedtime. It took a couple days but Ady finally warmed up to Judy and let her play with her. Judy was nice to buy Ady a book and had it in her bed when we got there. Ady loves books and was very excited for her new musical one. Judy bought Emma a cute little duckie.
